For stage laser lights, concert laser lights, and professional laser show equipment, technical specifications and control architecture usually become more important.

But even here, context matters.
A rental customer using mostly beam effects may not need the same scanner priorities as a customer projecting text, logos, and complex graphics.
A specification is only useful when you know what job it is supposed to improve.
Suppose your catalog needs three output levels:
3W / 5W / 8W
You could source three unrelated projectors.
That may work perfectly well.
But every unrelated platform can also mean:

DMX allows the projector to sit inside a wider lighting system.
For operators already running moving heads, strobes, PARs, and atmospheric effects from a console, predictable DMX behavior can make the laser much easier to integrate.
ILDA
An ILDA laser projector makes sense for customers using traditional professional laser-control hardware or software.
That is often more relevant when the work involves:
- Logos
- Text
- Graphics
- Programmed laser shows
If the customer never uses that workflow, ILDA should not be added simply because the acronym looks professional on a specification sheet.
FB4
An FB4 laser serves a more network-oriented professional workflow.
Pangolin describes FB4 as control hardware that can be integrated inside a laser projector. Depending on the version and configuration, FB4 can support Ethernet, Art-Net, DMX, ILDA, timecode, stand-alone playback, and PC-based control through the Pangolin ecosystem.

is not enough information.
The more useful question is:
What is actually running behind that RJ45 port?

9. Who Maintains Custom Apps and Firmware Later?
“Custom APP” sounds like a branding feature.
In practice, it is also a maintenance obligation.

- Who maintains Android?
- Who tests operating-system updates?
- What Bluetooth device name appears to the user?
- Will old projectors remain compatible with future app versions?

- Are the connectors unchanged?
- Does the beam look the same?
- Is the packaging still correct?
That is a much stronger conversation than:
I think the old version was different.
Is One Sample Enough?
Sometimes yes.
A logo and carton change may not justify several prototype stages.

may need something closer to:

11. How Do You Keep Repeat Orders Consistent?
Consistency does not mean freezing every screw forever.

Service-Critical Components
These may include:

The customer may never see them, but the dealer certainly will if something fails.
Compatibility matters here.
Minor Non-Critical Revisions
Some changes may have little practical effect:
- Internal cable routing
- Screws
- Small internal cosmetic details
If a change does not materially affect performance, safety, service, or compatibility, it does not necessarily need the same approval process as a scanner or control-board change.
The more realistic principle is:
A component change is not automatically a problem. An undocumented change is.
A better scanner can be an improvement.
A new power supply can be a sensible replacement.
But if the change alters product behavior, replacement compatibility, or customer expectations, the dealer should know before the shipment arrives.

12. Why OEM Cost Is More Than the Unit Price
Two projectors can differ by $40 and still have the opposite total cost over three years.
Suppose Supplier A is cheaper.

For a private-label product, confirm:
the exact model, the target market, the applicable documentation, and the role of each party.
This is purchasing guidance, not legal advice.
United States
The U.S. FDA treats laser projectors used for entertainment, displays, advertising, and similar applications as demonstration laser products. Its laser-light-show guidance distinguishes between projector manufacturers, laser show producers, and dealers/distributors. Higher-power Class IIIb and IV laser light show projectors are subject to specific regulatory requirements, including variance-related requirements in relevant circumstances.
So instead of asking only:
Is it FDA?
ask:
- Which exact model?
- What product report or filing applies?
- Who is the manufacturer of record?
- What does the dealer or distributor need to do?
- How will the product actually be used?
For U.S. sales, these questions should be answered before bulk import.
European Union
Under Article 13 of the EU General Product Safety Regulation, placing a product on the market under your own name or trademark can cause you to be treated as the manufacturer for purposes of that regulation and subject to the corresponding manufacturer obligations.
Other EU rules may also apply depending on the exact product.
The point for an OEM buyer is straightforward:
Private labeling can change more than the branding.
Do not wait until the product reaches customs—or until it is already on your website—to find out what your role means.
14. Spare Parts Before the First Bulk Order
Do not wait for the first failure to ask:
Can I buy a replacement board?
Before committing to a serious product line, discuss parts such as:
- Scanner
- Power supply
- Mainboard
- Display board
- Fans
- Cables
- Laser module
Then ask practical questions:
- Can this part be ordered separately?
- Can a dealer replace it locally?
- Does replacement require calibration?
- Will future revisions remain compatible?
- Should some spares ship with the first bulk order?
The most valuable spare part is not always the most expensive component in the machine.

“I want this product to be exclusive” sounds clear until both sides try to define it.
