PUB8 APP Control RGB Laser Light Projector 10W for Outdoor Shows

Honestly surprised by how bright this thing is. We tested it in our event space with haze and the beams looked great even with some of the other stage lights running. Colors are strong and the built-in effects are actually usable, not just random filler patterns. Took me maybe 15 minutes to get comfortable with the menus. Very happy with it so far.

Bright, compact and easy enough to use. I've only done three events with it so far, so I can't really comment on long-term durability yet, but no problems at all. The included programs are better than I expected. Manual could explain a few settings better though.

We bought four units at once for a club renovation and mounted them in different sections of the room. Running several of these together completely changed the space. With haze, we can create layers of beams over the dance floor instead of having everything coming from one location. We've been controlling them from our main DMX setup and they've responded consistently so far. The fixtures are smaller than I expected for the output, which helped because we didn't have a ton of mounting space. Getting all four addressed and positioned the first night was a bit tedious, but that's normal when you're installing multiple fixtures. After that we basically haven't touched them besides changing programs. Very pleased with the purchase.

Installed this in our bar and it made a bigger difference than I expected. We normally use moving heads and LED wash lights, but the laser adds a completely different look once the haze is running. The green and blue especially cut through really well. Setup was pretty simple and I like that we can just run built-in programs on slower nights instead of programming everything through DMX.

I originally bought this mainly for beam effects, but I've ended up using the custom text feature more than I thought I would. Being able to put a couple's names up during a wedding or a business name during an event is a nice extra touch. Don't expect it to replace a video projector for detailed graphics, obviously, but for simple text and laser animations it works really well. I also tested ILDA control and the difference in flexibility is huge once you start building your own shows. The housing feels pretty sturdy too. Only minor annoyance is going back and forth between different control methods while you're learning the unit.

Performance gets 5 stars from me, instructions maybe 3 stars. Fortunately the menus aren't that difficult and I figured most of it out by experimenting. DMX control has been stable and I haven't noticed any flickering or strange color issues. I like that there are enough built-in scenes to use it without bringing a laptop. Giving it 4 overall mainly because the documentation could be more detailed.

Used it for an outdoor covered event last weekend. Good brightness, nice RGB mixing and the animations stayed clear at a decent distance. Phone control was convenient when I didn't want to set up the full lighting console. One small thing—the fan is noticeable when you're standing right next to the fixture in a quiet room, but once music starts it's irrelevant. Would buy again.

We ordered two PUB8 units for our mobile event setup because one projector wasn't going to cover the width of some of the rooms we work in. Two was definitely the right call. We normally position one on each side of the stage and control both through DMX. The brightness is more than enough for weddings and corporate events, and having two gives us much better coverage and symmetry. My only complaint is that matching the exact angle and position on both units takes a little patience during setup. Once they're aligned though, they look fantastic together.

The laser itself is excellent. Bright output, clean colors and plenty of patterns. I bought it mostly because I wanted something I could control from my phone without having to connect a computer every time. The app works, but I wouldn't call the interface super intuitive at first. After playing with it for an evening it made a lot more sense. Overall a solid unit.

I had a couple of small RGB party lasers before this and this is in a completely different category. Much brighter and the patterns look cleaner instead of shaky or messy. With haze you can really see the beams across the whole room. Definitely overkill for a bedroom party, but for DJ work it makes sense.
