It made it through last night's rain without any obvious water getting inside. But the next day, the output window looks hazy. The beams are not as crisp as they were before. Maybe the projector even seems noticeably dimmer.
The obvious question is:
If this is an IP65 outdoor laser projector, why is this happening?
Because an IP rating answers only one part of the outdoor-reliability question.
Real outdoor equipment also has to deal with humidity, temperature swings, dew, frost, snow, direct sunlight, salt contamination, repeated heating and cooling, installation quality, and maintenance over time.
That means the better question is not simply:
Is this projector IP65?
It is:
Will this projector remain reliable in the actual environment where I plan to use it?

Quick Answer: Can an IP65 Outdoor Laser Projector Still Get Condensation?
Yes. An IP65 outdoor laser projector can still experience condensation. IP65 describes protection against dust and water ingress under specified conditions; it does not mean moisture can never condense on or inside the projector because of humidity and temperature changes. For a ski resort, coastal hotel, marina, theme park, or permanent façade installation, condensation, temperature, snow, salt air, direct sun, and maintenance should be discussed before the equipment is installed, not after weather has already created a problem.
That is the more useful way to choose and operate professional outdoor laser lights.
